Update

I have a ticket number!
My travel agent spent all day on the phone with United and Singapore Air and finally got me a confirmed ticket number. She even made the guy email her a copy of the codes that are in the United computer to show them if they give me a problem tomorrow.
If you don't hear any more from me, I'll have successfully boarded my flight.
I'll be so relieved when I do. It has been a very strange day.

I've got a flight

They've managed to get me on a flight tomorrow. I'm leaving Logan tomorrow at 10am (I !#%*-ing well hope), changing planes in Chicago, stopping in Tokyo (but not changing planes) and then on to Seoul. I've managed to change my hostel reservation and let Hwa Gye Sa know that I'm delayed by a day. My flight back seems to have stayed the same. I'm waiting right now for a ticket number. I'll keep you posted.

Obstacles Arise

It is 9:47am and I am not on an airplane! I got up early, headed over to the airport, and waited in line only to be told that my ticket had been exchanged and that I could not board. There was no one to call because none of the offices were open yet. Nothing I could do but go home. I’ve been to my travel agents and they are working furiously to figure out what’s going on and get me on a flight tomorrow. I told them that I really might need to have some kind of compensation for today’s debacle in the form of an upgrade. We’ll see what they can do.
In my school, they say that when you do strong practice, obstacles arise. I guess this is the kind of thing they were talking about.

Leavin' on a jet plane

Hey folks, this is my last post before I leave. Several people have asked me about who won the wheel I was giving away at the sale. You can see her picture up on the shop site.
I'm in my final preparations for my trip and it is going well enough that I'm starting to get nervous that I'm forgetting something. Oh, well.
Here's a picture of some of the yarn and needles I'm taking with me. I may take more than that. Can't run out!!

I'm also planning to go to at least one yarn store in Seoul. I found out that my hostel is only one subway stop away from one. Woohoo!

I've also gotten lots of advise about other places to check out. Now that I've gotten this fabric fetish, I'm going to check out the shops around another temple district where I've been told you can get all kinds of beautiful stuff in monastic grey.
