Spring Fever!

I'm taking a break from the soul sucking job of tax preparation and dyeing some yarn! Tee hee! No matter how many pounds of yarn I dye, it still stays fun! There are times I dye some seriously ugly yarn (I think I may have done some of that today. You'll have to come in and decide for yourself) but even when I finish a skein and go "Oh...dear", the process is still always fun. The crazy part is that even when I think a skein is too ugly for words, someone always falls in love with it! Go figure.

Anyway, different dye days seem to have different themes. Today's theme seems to be green. I've dyed green and yellow,

green and mauve,

green and purple, and

green and, well, green.

Even though the skein on the left looks a little mud colored, in person it is GORGEOUS, all pear and grasshopper greens. I could just keep dyeing everything green but I seem to have run out of yarn. Oh, well. Another dye day shall come! (Hey, Guido, notice how I resisted the urge to say "I shall live to dye another day!" or "Today is a good day to dye!" or, oh, god, someone stop me!)

You may even get me liking green, there, particularly those with the pink and purples (just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down!)

Your post had me dyeing and in stitches... :)

Don't worry, I am always happy to throw in a pun at a moment's notice, even if you show restraint... ghaa...

I could always bring some of that yarn I have to dye in, if you get desperate. :) (My SO has been trying to convince me to get you to dye it instead of attempting it myself. I think he thinks I'm going to blow up the kitchen and lose our security deposit thereby.)

Squee, these are great especially the green and purple one. I may have to visit and see these in person soon.

Lucy, Taylor here...

Oh my god! the sock yarn I got from you the other day, the burnt umber, orange, and cream number, I think you called it "Red/Brown" You totally need to rename it. I put a new sock on the needles with this yarn, I'm down to the heel flap and all I see is "Antelope Canyon" out in Arizona. I have been talking about this yarn all week, it is beautiful!! It needs to be called like sandstone, or something with a desert appeal, just google Antelope Canyon for an image and you will see I'm right. Once the socks are done I'll swing by for more yarn and needles to show you.

I dig the "mud" (pear/grasshopper) one the best, actually. My fave shades of green!

call the red/brown "hoodoo" after these great red brown formations that they have (probably lots of places but i saw in) Bryce Canyon.

love the green/ purple- reminds me of violets, violet. I need to make myself something green and purple to quell that urge and get over the green/purple lust.
